PRODUCTIONS
With over five decades of theater experience spanning America and the Netherlands, George Hansel has worked extensively as a performer, director, producer and arts educator with work ranging from classic plays and musicals to original productions. Among the most notable successes are producing Last Train to Nitric, which transferred from a regional production to Off Broadway, and equally significant - the creation and production of 7 Annual Women’s Art festivals which mounted 32 productions across 20 venues and became a cornerstone arts event.
For the last decade George Hansel’s work with the InPlayers in Amsterdam — the city’s oldest English-speaking theatre club — has formed a central part of his creative life. During this time, he directed Allegro and Under Milk Wood.
In 2025, he launched Our Way Productions, marking the next chapter in his ongoing commitment to theatre-making and production.
“My passion is working to REVEAL in an actor - what makes us human in the space between our magnificence and our flaws”.
George Hansel

Using only their body-language, faces, and pliant voices, the cast brings to life the eccentric and unorthodox people who live under the abundance of the milkwood trees. Each actor portrays a number of villagers, as we follow them from the depths of their dreams, into the light of dawn and on through a typical day of these off-beat examples of humanity.
