Casting Call

Seeking actors for an original full length play by Kathryn Zaniboni for its world premiere in Amsterdam.

Performers must be able to speak in a Trans-Atlantic (often referred to as Mid-Atlantic) American accent. It's the accent usually heard in the North American, New England region of the United States.

Compensation: Dependent on funding

Audition Details

Sunday, October 12, 2025 starting at 14:00 Approximate time slots will be given. Callbacks: Tuesday, October 14 2025 at 19:00. The audition location is Arent Janszoon Ernststraat 1179 1081 HL Amsterdam (South)

Performance Details

Tech/Dress: Thursday February 5, 2026

Performance: February 6 - 8, 2026. Matinee on Sunday and possibly two shows on Saturday. Shows will be held at Het Amsterdams Theaterhuis.

Rehearsal Details:

Tuesdays, Thursdays, from 19:00 - 22:00 and Saturdays from 12:00 - 16:00

beginning November 11th with a holiday break from December 19 to January 9

Play's Synopses

After discovering a cache of letters while clearing out their late parents' house, a brother and sister learn of a seemingly passionate relationship between their mother and another woman that had traversed over 20 years. The impact of the letters on the siblings forces them to face their own life's challenges bringing into question what they thought they knew about life, love, family, and themselves.

Character Roles:

Paul - male, 20's then 40's; husband of Karen; Linda and Paul Jr's father (both ages played by the same actor)

Karen - female, 20's then 40's, wife of Paul; Linda and Paul Jr's mother (both ages played by the same actor)

Linda - female, 40's, single, daughter of Karen and Paul; Paul Jr's older sister

Paul Jr. - male, married w/children, 40's; son of Karen and Paul; Linda's younger brother

Wendy - female, single, 20's then 40's then 70's; friend of Karen (all ages played by the same actor)

Sarah - female, divorced w/children, 40's; old school friend of Wendy

Lawyer - male/female, any ethnicity, 30-50; possible double role played by Sarah
